I just found out that I am being shipped to help out the soldiers in the war. Many of them are ill and wounded so it is my duty to help those soldiers. I am looking forward to doing the little that I can to help the soldiers win the war. I am looking forward to not only seeing new places and meeting new people, but I am also looking forward to the feeling of pride i’ll experience when I know that what I am doing for the soldiers is a good thing. I know you may be sad but please do not worry for me. I’ll take good care of myself. I love you both.

Dear mother and father,

War isn’t exciting anymore. I thought it’d be exciting and a good experience but I was very wrong. I am scared. Many of my fellow nurses have died because they were infected by soldiers and many of my friends who were soldiers died too. I had a best friend named Nathaniel and we grew really close when I was nursing him. When he got better he was sent to war again and I received letters from him. Then one day I didn’t receive any letters from him… a few weeks later I was sent a letter from the general saying Nathaniel was killed in battle by a grenade… I’m afraid of losing more friends, I want to go home…
